About the Project
Ceasefire is a collaboration of church leaders and concerned Christians addressing the issue of public criticism and slander on the internet against pastors and churches. A lot of criticism–by Christians against Christian leaders–has been published on the web, some warranted and some not. This has caused hurt on both sides.
This group blog is an attempt to provide resources for proper resolution to the personal conflict or criticism indiscriminately published on the world wide web. The problem addressed here is not that one party is in the right; rather, it’s to say that the world wide web is not the forum to air specific grievances for the consumption of distanced observers. We think it’s unbiblical (1 Corinthians 6; Matthew 18:15-17) and this is our solution.
The resources provided here are meant for pastors as well as church leaders, members and visitors to resolve conflict, air grievances, seek redress, or bring about reform in a proper forum. We recognize that blogs are not the proper forum because they give disparate power to one voice representing just one side of a situation. The hope is that people will find and utilize the proper channels to address issues internal to Christians.
